A Kentucky railroad worker is suing his employer for $850,000.
He claims he is going blind from working amidst bird droppings. He contracted histoplasmosis, a degenerative eye disease caused by inhaling the fungus spores formed in bird feces.
A large amount of bird droppings are usually required for this problem to develop. This is one of the reasons FDA does not like to see birds in and on buildings containing food products.
